CAPITOL SAMS MINUTES SEPT 12-14, 2017

CAPITOL SAMS MINUTES
AMERICAN LEGION PARK
WILBUR, NE
SEPT 12-14, 2017

The meeting was called to order by President, Mert LeBreton. Those present were: Mert and Fred LeBreton, Judy and Mahlon Dickey, and Lee and Norma Maler.

The Secretaries report of the minutes were approved.

Treasurer’s report from Lee Maler was $XXX. Dues of $3.00 a rig plus the names of each club member and their expiration dates for the Good Sams State membership needs to be turned in October of this year.

Old Business: None

New Business: Judy Dickey reported on the Good Sams Staff meeting in North Platte. Next year’s theme will be “Paradise Island”. There were 14 chapter representatives present with 16 total. It was decided that the posters and scrap books were not going to be judged next year. It was hoped that more would participate if not judged. Our club received 3rd place but only 3 posters were shown. They will have a game coordinator and a merchandizer for the next rally. There will not be a Friday night meal just a Saturday night one. We were told to NOT use the Good Sams Logo on any Facebook posts. The Ladies Tea will be on Saturday not Friday and the Auction on Friday. Since there was some confusion on requests for problems and changes it was decided that everyone had to ask the director first not the staff and the director would assign a staff member to take care of any issues. State treasurer will be a one year term in the future.  Ray Fink was re-elected for this year. Our club will have the hospitality on Thursday for next year’s Rally.

The members worked on the next year’s camping schedule.
May 7, 8, 9 – Victorian Acres at Nebraska City
June 6-10 – Good Sams Rally
                July 9, 10, 11 – Tuxedo Park in Crete
August 13, 14, 15 – Cunningham Park in North Omaha
                September 10, 11, 12 – Shitacqua Park in Beatrice

Judy’s daughter will help Judy to create a Facebook site to recruit new members called “Camping with Retirees in Southeast Nebraska”. She made it a public site for us to share to our friends, etc. Hopefully, we will be able to recruit new members.

We went to the Czech Museum and there was a farmers market on Tuesday. Fred grilled our steaks that evening with shared side dishes. We had a good time visiting and played cards each evening.

Mahlon made a motion to adjourn with Lee a second.

Respectively submitted,

Norma Maler
Secretary
