May 2018

A welcome back to our Winter Texans and also to our Snowbirds back from Arizona. We hope you are enjoying our Nebraska weather.

Thanks again to our March Hosts Dave and Deanne Herrmann. I am sure everyone enjoyed meeting at the Pizza Ranch. I want to thank you Dave Herrmann for presiding over the meeting while we were out of town with family.

We will be camping at Branch Oaks May 18th, 19th and 20th. Our hosts are Gordon & Jolene Glock and Ralph & Jane Ross. If you plan on coming to Branch Oaks during these dates please call the Glock’s at # 402-467-1033, 402-980-3225 or the Ross’s at 402-269-7298 and let them know you will be coming.

For those that want to attend there will be a tour of the Elephant Hall in Lincoln Friday May 18th at approximately 10:00 AM. The cost of the tour is $7.00 which includes 3 floors to visit and a video lasting about 45 minutes. The restaurant we will eat at Friday night is to be announced Friday morning or Friday afternoon.

Saturday May 19th for those that wish to visit the Quilt Museum, we will arrive approximately around 10 AM or later and a tour guide will walk us through the museum from 11 AM to 2 PM. The cost for this Quilt Museum will be $6.00 dollars.

A potluck will be held Saturday afternoon around 5 PM, that is if the weather is good. Gordon will bring a 10 X 20 canopy also if the weather is not good we will go to a restaurant and the name of the restaurant will be announced Saturday. Gordon did also mention maybe the campers would rather go to a restaurant than have a pot luck especially if they visited the Quilt Museum and would rather relax than prepare a pot luck meal. Again this would be up to the discretion of the hosts.

At the Good Sams State meeting on Saturday a lot of information was given and this information will be discussed at our May camp meeting. One piece of information I will give everyone since it was discussed at our last meeting was the change of name for “Dog’s for the Deaf.” The new name given is now, “ Dog’s for Better Living.”

Just a reminder to those that plan to attend the State Rally in June bring a dozen cookies. Also, bring something for the auction, some examples would be house hold goods, garage tools etc. bring what ever you have new or used and you won’t be needing it.

Happy birthday to all you May babies and wishing all of you a Happy Birthday!
