WAGON WHEEL SAMS
ROBIDOUX RV PARK, GERING, NE
APRIL 27-29, NEWSLETTER

Special Thank You to Jim and Linda Vance for doing our March newsletter. As I took off for Texas on the 7th of March and would spend a month visiting with Winter Texan friends that Chet and I had made over the years, it had been four years since I had made the trip. This time I was alone and traveled only during daylight hours, taking me four days to make 1300 miles. I stayed at Casa del Sol MH/RV Resort in Donna, TX. I visited Bart and Doris in Edinburg and other friends in Rio Hondo, Los Fresno and Weslaco and of course Donna. On my way back to Nebraska, I stopped in LaGrange, TX to spend some time with a niece and her family who I had not seen in 12 years. I left LaGrange and headed west on hwy 71 toward Austin and then on to Johnson City, this would be the most colorful drive, with so many beautiful wildflowers along the way, then on highway 290 to Fredericksburg and then on to junction on I-10. I would make new friends from North Platte, but didn’t meet them ‘till Shamrock, TX at the same overnight stop campgrounds. They had stayed at the Junction Campgrounds the night before and we would stay at the same place the last night of travel in Oakley, KS. Would get back home on Thursday, April 12th at 11:30am and just in time for the blizzard that came in on the 13th & 14th. I was so very thankful that I would be home when the weather turned bad.
