MINUTES OF AUGUST 15, 2015

The August 15, 2015 meeting was called to order by President Alvin Herbel at 1:10 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance recited by the members. Members also recited the Good Sams Pledge.
Roll Call: The roll call was read with 12 rigs represented.
Guests present included Carla Griess, State Director of Good Sames and Lynette Caldwell, President of Flat Rock Chapter, Assistant State Director and State Membership Chairperson.
Minutes: The minutes of the July 18 meeting were read by Secretary Lois Herbel. There were no corrections to the minutes. A motion was made by Bonita to accept the minutes as read and seconded by Harry . Motion carried.
Correspondence: Get well cards were sent to Sharon Gregory and Roy Austin.
Report of Committees: Wagonmaster: the September campout will be held at Lake Ogallala on September 18 and 19. The business meeting will be held September 18 at 6:00 PM. The potluck dinner will be held at noon on Saturday, September 19. Wanda and Chet Binegar are host and hostess.
Highway Cleanup: the August highway cleanup will be held August 22 at 8:00 AM. We will meet at Robidoux RV Park.
Old Business: Badges: badges from previous years were available for those who did not receive badges in the past. The remaining badges were given to Carla Griess.
New Business: Highway Cleanup in the future: Funding will not be available for the coming year to provide mini-grants to organizations who participate in highway cleanup events. Harry suggested we continue the cleanup even though funds may not be available.
A calling tree was handed out to the members present at the meeting. It was explained how the tree works.
Future fundraising: President Al Herbel will inquire at the fall state meeting whether or not our chapter can participate in a 50/50 drawing at the state rally.
Scrapbook: it was decided to discontinue the scrapbook due to expense, very few view the scrapbooks if any, and what should be done with them in the future.
Brochure: President Al Herbel designed a brochure to give to potential members. A motion was made by Sharon and seconded by Dale to allocate $200.00 to the printing of the brochures. Motion passed with 3 opposing.
Christmas in October: It was decided that we would continue to camp at Robidoux RV Park in October but not decorate our rigs, not provide cookies and coffee but provide a starting location for ABATE on their run to collect food and toys. We would provide rolls in the morning.
Election: Bart made a motion to accept the ballot of potential officers for 2016 as presented. Char seconded the motion. Motion carried. The officers for 2016 will be as follows: Al Herbel, President, Bonita Case, Vice-President, Janice Brixius, Secretary, Jeanette Schreiner, Treasurer. LeRoy Schreiner will continue to be Wagonmaster and Lois Herbel will continue writing the newsletter.
2016 camping locations: Members are encouraged to be thinking about where they would like to camp in 2016. We will discuss ideas at the September meeting and make decisions in October.
State Director, Carla Griess, presented an update from the state. She stressed that it is important to continue to gain new members. We need to replace ourselves in our chapter membership and target newly retired campers. She also stated that anyone can have access to the state website by merely logging in to the website. She also asked if we were receiving state emailed minutes or if we wanted to receive them. Several indicated they were not receiving the emails but would like to. Carla will check on the status of receiving those emails.
50/50: A total of $48.00 was taken in through the 50/50 drawing. The Club received $24.00. Al and Dale won the 50/50 drawing of $12.00 a piece. Both donated their winnings back to the chapter.
Host/Hostess: We would like to thank George and Betty Wilhelm for a fine job hosting the August meeting. Chet and Wanda Binegar will host the 6:00 PM meeting at Lake Ogallala on Friday night, September 18, with potluck dinner at noon on Saturday, September 20.
Adjourn: A motion was made by Char to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Bart. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 2:30 PM.
