The October 17, 2015 meeting was called to order by President Alvin Herbel at 6:47 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance and Good Sams Pledge recited by the members.
Roll Call: The roll call was read with 11 rigs represented.
Guests present included None
Minutes: The minutes of the September 18 meeting were read by Secretary Lois Herbel. There were no corrections to the minutes . A motion was made by Betty to accept the minutes as read and seconded by Janice. Motion carried.
Correspondence: There was none.
Report of Committees:
Wagonmaster: tentative campouts for 2016 include April ? Robidoux RV Park, May ? Chadron State Park, June ? Ft. Rob or Ash Hollow, July ? Lusk, August ? Lake Minatare, September ? Alliance, October ? Robidoux RV Park. Possible alternative sites for campouts include AB Campground in Cheyenne, Guernsey and Lake Ogallala.
Old Business:
Reminder to keep emergency forms up to date., Volunteer hours collected for this month totaled 234.5 hours for a year to date total of 1469.5 hours.
Christmas in October: There were 17 bikers and over 2 boxes of toy donations collected as well as monetary donations. Gering Bakery granted a 10% discount for the rolls served Saturday morning. A press release and community calendar notice appeared in the newspaper and KDUH TV.
Keep America Beautiful will have grant money for us next year. We decided as a group to continue the highway pick up for 2016.
Christmas meeting: the meal will be held at Prime Cut at 12:00 noon. After the meal, we will journey to Robidoux RV Multipurpose Room for the meeting at 2:00 PM. There will be time to play games after the meeting for those who so desire.
Al and Lois Herbel will host the November meeting. Bart will deep fry turkeys provided by Herbels and Schreiners. A sign up sheet was passed for members to indicate foods they would like to bring that compliment the Thanksgiving dinner theme. The meal will be held at 6:00 PM on November 14 with the meeting following at 7:00 PM.
New Business:
Badges were distributed to members for the Special Olympic donation at the Rally.
State Meeting Report: Bart reported that the theme for the 2016 Rally will be ?Honoring America?. Each chapter will need to provide a centerpiece to be used as a raffle at the Rally. It is time to send in a current roster and dues to the state ($3.00 per rig). Wagon Wheel Sams will conduct a raffle on Friday of the Rally. There is a need for donations of pancake flour for the breakfast at the Rally. The fall meeting will be held at the Holiday RV Park in North Platte on August 27, 2016.
In a brainstorming session, we discussed several ideas to add flavor to our meetings and campout next year. Ideas suggested include progressive supper in the summer, bring food for the potluck that begins with the letter of your last name, cream can dinner, breakfast or brunch at a summer campout, tailgate party dinner, ice cream social, games, tours.
Dues ? please pay Jeanette Schreiner for the 2016 dues. The dues will remain at $10.00.
50/50: A total of $40.00 was taken in through the 50/50 drawing. The Club received $20.00. Cap and Janice won the 50/50 drawing of $10.00 a piece. They donated their winnings back to the club.
Host/Hostess: We would like to thank Bart and Doris for a fine job hosting the October meeting. Al and Lois Herbel will host the 6:00 PM meeting at Robidoux RV Multi-Purpose Room with Thanksgiving potluck dinner.
Adjourn: A motion was made by Jeanette to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Bart. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
